Vision: A Pikes Peak region in which immigrants receive necessary support to thrive and do not live in fear of detention, deportation, or the separation of their family.

Mission:

The Accompaniment and Sanctuary Coalition of Colorado Springs seeks to make the Pikes Peak region a safer place for immigrants by standing with and protecting immigrants facing obstacles in everyday life, including housing, finances, healthcare, well-being and apprehension/deportation. We do this by supporting and connecting them to the valuable resources in their communities, educating faith communities on issues of immigration and activating them in the coalition’s work, advocating for policy change, and providing sanctuary in a host church to vetted immigrants facing imminent deportation.

Why ASC COS?

Leaving your home and leaving everything you've ever known behind you is not an easy decision. When where you live is no longer safe to live or healthy to thrive, immigration is the only option. When immigrants come to the US, they are met with a government system meant to be unwelcoming and difficult.

We believe that all human beings are born with inherent dignity and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We support the local immigrant and refugee community by connecting clients to local organizations that are safe for immigrants and for undocumented neighbors. Among the many ways we accompany our immigrant neighbors, we provide transportation, interpretation, and translation when needed, help clients find housing in a difficult market, accompany clients to court, build partnerships with local groups and congregations, provide clothing and accessories to all ages,as well as food, utilities, and rent assistance when funds are available. We provide education for citizens wanting to learn more about immigration and how to get involved. We provide a safe place of sanctuary when a client may be facing detention or deportation. We provide many cups of sugar, no matter how big or how small.
